Lincoln Property Company (LPC) recognizes that great real estate development has the power to lift up a neighborhood. This is an especially important responsibility when development happens in underserved neighborhoods like English Avenue on Atlanta’s Westside, where LPC is developing the 19-acre mixed-use village Echo Street West. LPC hired The Wilbert Group to manage the PR and social media program for Echo Street West, including thoughtful storytelling around the Partnership. Here are three examples:

1. Community Groundbreaking:
From the way we pitched the media to the content we created for social, our storytelling led with the English Avenue community and their involvement in this milestone event. LPC invited local youth to paint shovels for the groundbreaking, toured them around the project site and hosted a virtual game show all about real estate development.
Former Westside Future Fund Director of Neighborhood Engagement Joan Vernon said, “The Echo Street West groundbreaking was a first of its kind with education, entertainment and fun all in celebration of this large scale development. I have personally never seen community members elevated and celebrated in any other groundbreaking.”
Wilbert’s video recapping the community groundbreaking story earned 6.8K views, our social media posts garnered 26.9K impressions and our PR efforts earned more than a dozen media hits.

2. Space for CoLab:
Now under construction with select spaces ready for use, Echo Street West has opened its doors to local non-profit organizations, even dedicating leasable square footage to CoLab, a community resource center fully equipped with AV equipment, computers and meeting/training space.
Wilbert executed a PR and social media strategy to highlight this unique partnership. We created a video that received 4.5K views and a series of social media posts that garnered more than 214 engagements (likes, shares, comments). Our press release resulted in a variety of media coverage, including this story in the Atlanta Journal Constitution.

3. Supporting Good Sam:
On average, English Avenue residents have a life expectancy that is 13 years less than their neighbors in Buckhead. With this in mind, The Echo Street West Partnership provided support for Good Samaritan, a nonprofit aimed squarely at improving the quality of life for these residents. Support included:
- Funds for two weeks of free medical, dental and mental health services to the 100+ patients who utilize Good Samaritan each month.
- In-kind construction services provided by Echo Street West Partners, DPR Construction, Brent Scarborough & Co and Davis Landscape, to reset the corner lot adjacent to Good Sam’s Market Pavilion by cleaning up debris and unstable sidewalks, regrading the site, planting grass, resetting the fencing and installing an ADA ramp to make the Market more accessible. The new greenspace will feature a fire pit and additional gathering areas for the community.
- The collection of nearly 6,000 supplies, including women’s sanitary items, toothbrushes and healthy snacks, to create hygiene kits that will be distributed to Good Sam’s patients.
Wilbert highlighted these efforts in a meaningful way by partnering with Good Samaritan on a press release and a series of social media posts. The press release earned valuable coverage like this piece in the Atlanta Business Chronicle, while the social media posts garnered 168 engagements and 12.2K impressions.
