Modernizing a century-old office tower

Lionstone Investments saw an opportunity to refresh the story and brand around Jones on Main, a century-old Art Deco office tower in Downtown Houston that had recently undergone renovations and is home to the very popular Finn Hall food hall. Lionstone offices out of Jones on Main and saw firsthand the lack of awareness around the modern updates within the historic tower. With this in mind, Wilbert developed a brand around the concept of “better together” — the idea that things of contrasting natures are better when paired together: modern and historic, bartenders and bankers, wellness and wine tastings and so on. The visual identity system embraces the gold pattern from the iconic architecture and contrasts it with clean, modern fonts and expanded colors that better connect the building with the food hall’s more vibrant brand. Wilbert created an expansive brand manual that details how to apply the new branding to the building and its marketing assets. We also developed a new leasing deck with a memorable cover slide featuring an illustration of the recognizable Art Deco building top.
