  1. Cooper Carry served as the architect in the renovation and expansion of the Ritz-Carlton, Naples after damage from Hurricane Ian forced the resort to close. Principal of Cooper Carry’s Hospitality Studio, Kathy Logan, discusses the thought behind the extravagant, bright design in Garden & Gun.
  2. Small Business Saturday is one of the biggest shopping days for locally owned businesses, and the shops at Alpharetta City Center go big to draw in loyal customers. Brittany Cox, owner of Southern Local at Alpharetta City Center, talked to Forbes about her plans to attract shoppers during the holiday. 
  3. MDH Partners welcomed BroadRang Logistics as the newest tenant at Ocala Logistics Center, a 350,899-square-foot industrial building in Central Florida. REBusiness Online reported on the leasing deal here. 
  4. Before getting the keys to a new home, you have to determine a workable budget. Churchill Mortgage branch manager Seth Bellas spoke to the Wall Street Journal about strategies for setting a home budget. 
  5. Along with a generous furniture donation from Aaron’s, Warrick Dunn Charities made a Miami single mother’s holidays her best yet with the surprise of a new home thanks to Habitat for Humanity. CBS News Miami lays out the full story here
  6. Good Day Atlanta’s Buck Lanford paid a visit to 1105 West Peachtree’s The Office Bar to try its signature burger and gave it a well-deserved thumbs up. Watch the full segment online at Fox 5
  7. Portman Holdings is venturing into the student housing business with the launch of a new venture led by Rodney King, a 17-year real estate veteran. Atlanta Business Chronicle has more on the initiative here
  8. Good Day Atlanta visited Halcyon in Forsyth County to talk with business owners about their plans for Small Business Saturday. Fox 5’s Paul Miliken was on the scene to make the rounds. 
  9. As a part of the worldwide Daffodil Project, 750 of the flowers were planted by residents of JW Collection’s South on Main neighborhood in Woodstock, Georgia in November. The daffodils memorialize victims of the WWII Holocaust. Read more about the project via Atlanta Journal-Constitution
  10. Atlanta law firms are still seeking out new office space, but many are looking to downsize as well. JLL Senior Analyst Shelton Quantz discussed findings from the firm’s latest report with Law.com, which includes the notion that technology may have something to do with the need for less space.
  11. Ryan Cos. recently kicked off leasing at Renata at Lakewood Ranch in Bradenton, Florida, which is its largest project in the state to date. It will bring over 500 units of upscale multifamily living to the area. Read more via CoStar.
  12.  Chain Store Age recently highlighted Oak, a high-end, mixed-use center coming to Oklahoma City. Veritas Development Founder Ryan McNeill spoke about the vision and history behind the development, and what tenants are in store. 
  13. Third & Urban has signed new office leases at its Lower Tuck development in West Charlotte. Charlotte Business Journal reported on the new tenants joining the creative adaptive reuse community.
  14. This past holiday season was active, with consumers willing to spend money freely despite economic headwinds. Stephen Lebovitz, CEO of CBL Properties, spoke with Associated Press about the reasoning behind this high spending, and what might be expected in 2024.
  15. Hoar Construction is building a new mixed-use development in Nashville’s Green Hills neighborhood, which happens to be right next door to the famed Bluebird Cafe. Nashville Business Journal reported on Hoar’s relationship with the iconic landmark cafe and how it maintains a level of trust throughout the project. 
  16. Nonprofit group Christian City announced plans to build a 15-acre, mixed-use village in Union City, Georgia, which will create a grand entrance to its 500-acre campus. It will include 270,000 square feet of townhomes, retailers, medical office space and an early learning center. Read more via Atlanta Business Chronicle
  17. Stonemont Financial Group delivered 2.7 million square feet of industrial space at the Georgia International Trade Center in Rincon, Georgia, with Lowes occupying two of the buildings. Commercial Property Executive has the story here.
  18. Selig Enterprises celebrated the opening of Heartwood Powder Springs with a ribbon-cutting ceremony in October. Urbanize Atlanta reported on the multifamily development, which brings the first new apartment project to Powder Springs, Georgia in 20 years.
