Making a Difference: The Heart of The Wilbert Group

At The Wilbert Group, our commitment transcends public relations. It delves into the core of community service and industry support through our cherished initiative, Wilbert Cares.

This initiative is not just a part of what we do — it is the essence of who we are and what we aspire our company to represent. It's a reflection of our collective spirit and a testament to the values we hold.

W: Cares is our pledge to make a meaningful impact in the communities where we live, in the industries we navigate and on the next generation of PR professionals. We make a difference through pro bono work, hands-on projects and serving on committees and boards in our clients’ industries.

A Year of Impact: 2023 in Review

The year 2023 was monumental for W: Cares, marked by 100% participation from our team. Together, we boxed 300 meals, contributed more than $85,000 to pro bono clients and contributed 580 volunteer hours. We exceeded our goals, and I am so proud of the work our team has accomplished.

Our journey of giving began in Q1 with a heartwarming visit to PAWS Atlanta, where we not only cleaned indoor kennels and prepared comfortable spaces for the pups, but also enhanced their outdoor yard. In Q2, our focus shifted to Hosea Helps, where we packed over 300 family meals. This experience was not only about giving back, but also about strengthening our team bond and understanding the power of collective effort in making a difference.

Q3 brought us to the Covenant House, offering support to Georgia’s homeless adolescents. Our work in organizing their career clothing closet was more than just an act of service; it was a moment of connection and impact, especially witnessing the excitement and appreciation from the residents first-hand. In December, we embraced the holiday spirit with the Atlanta Children’s Shelter, where our activities included assisting families with holiday shopping and assembling gifts like bikes. This service project was a highlight, as the team could see the joy this brought to the families and children in our city.

Throughout the year, we found other opportunities to serve, supporting the City of Refuge’s DREAM Boutique and hosting a toy drive for the Atlanta Children’s Shelter.

In 2023, the Wilbert team also served as co-chairs, board members and supporting roles across multiple organizations. Our efforts ranged from co-chairing the ULI Awards of Excellence to serving on the committees for the PRSA Annual Conference (and then being promoted to co-chairing the 2024 event!), and co-chairing the PRSA Awards event to serving on NAIOP’s communications committee.

Vice President Caroline Gold’s work with Alliance Theatre is a great example of this. She has sat on the Advisory Board since 2022. This advisory board comprises business and civic leaders across the city, who provide strategic advice to the Alliance Theatre Board of Directors, executive staff and other organizational leaders. Caroline serves on the education subcommittee, which is dedicated to expanding access to theatre and the arts to Atlanta’s youth.

W: Cares is more than an initiative; it's a legacy we're building—one that goes beyond our professional achievements to include a profound impact on our community and industry. As we look back on the accomplishments of 2023, we are filled with gratitude for the opportunities to serve and make a difference. But, more importantly, we look forward to the impact we will continue to make in the years to come.
