Leveraging LinkedIn for Creative Storytelling

LinkedIn posts can often feel formulaic and boring: deal announcement, new hire alert, job listing. At The Wilbert Group, we take a different approach, using LinkedIn as a platform not just for key announcements, but for storytelling.

We create compelling content that helps our clients connect with their core audiences. As a result, our clients outperform their competitors on key metrics like engagement and follower growth.

Here are a few tenets we keep in mind when producing LinkedIn content.

  • Video performs better than any other kind of content on all social media platforms - and LinkedIn is no exception. For client Veritas, we leverage one of their executives, Chris George, as a familiar face in frequent videos. We built trust with our audience by posting selfie-style videos with Chris throughout the development, construction and opening process, even giving him a catchphrase.     • Speaking of video, we like to turn client podcast appearances into short videos. This is much more effective than simply posting a link to the podcast.
  • For media hits, we often create a pull quote, more compelling than posting a link and thanking the outlet for coverage (like everyone else). One example is here.
  • To drive new business, it’s important to show off client work and our expertise. We turn our own case studies and blogs into LinkedIn posts. Here’s one about our work for Underground Atlanta, and one discussing our POV on LinkedIn for 2026.
  • Finally, we think beyond the obvious. And instead of a typical “happy anniversary” post, we used Toro Development Company’s fifth anniversary as a peg to share the company’s narrative with a creative timeline - headlined by Toro’s signature shot of Herradura tequila. 

On any social media platform, it’s important to create content that stands out amongst a sea of other posts. By focusing on compelling visuals and creative storytelling, we’re able to increase engagement and brand awareness for our clients on LinkedIn.
