SEPTEMBER 27, 2018
Every day is a holiday on social media. In September alone, there’s National Tailgating Day, National Blueberry Popsicle Day, U.S. Bowling League Day, National Wildlife Day and National Macadamia Nut Day. The holidays – which trend on social media with corresponding hashtags – are a great way for brands and companies to connect with new audiences and inspire fun, timely content.
We execute social media for many of our clients. As we prepare content calendars, we refer often to the National Day Calendar.
Here’s one real-life example:
101 Marietta Street is a Class-A office building in the heart of Downtown Atlanta. The owner, The Dilweg Companies, hired The Wilbert Group to develop and execute a PR and social media program to let the world know about the building’s renovations, which are beautiful and modern.
July 17th was #WorldEmojiDay which allowed us to create timely content and have some fun using the property’s sleek wall-size lobby screens:
We also asked followers to describe Downtown Atlanta using only emojis – with great results!
On Facebook, the post generated 1,133 impressions with 13 responses and 30 reactions.
On Twitter, it generated 4,014 impressions with 33 engagements.
And finally, on Instagram, it generated 6,972 impressions and 10 users responded with their emojis of choice.
With a total of 12,119 impressions overall, this piece of content added excitement mid-July and helped us broaden our audience and connect with fans of Downtown Atlanta.
